Croydon based Don’t Ask are a highly versatile 7 piece Covers band spanning several different styles and genres of music, playing some R & B, Blues, a hint of Soul and Funk, featuring many contemporary songs as well as classic standards. Formed originally in 1991, Don’t Ask have their own distinctive musical style, playing songs by artists such as Duffy, Norah Jones and Amy Winehouse as well as classics by The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, Simply Red, Carole King and Dusty Springfield. The band can also perform some of their original material, some of which can be heard on their CD releases, Trouble and Strife and the double CD, Uncovered . Although the band have played local venues like The Cartoon, The Brief, and Scream Lounge, most of their gigs are often private or corporate functions like The BAE Systems Xmas Party on the Isle of Wight and The Police Federation Conference in Bournemouth. In April of 2009 Don’t Ask performed at The Mayor of Croydon's official Ball at The Hilton Hotel, Purley Way. The Band are a very popular choice for both Weddings and Parties.
Don’t Ask Acoustic have formed to play more intimate venues and will be appearing at Scream Lounge Bar in Croydon on Sunday 7th March 2010
